Faviken maybe familiar to those of you who have watched The Chef's Table on Netflix. It is a restaurant just below the Arctic Circle in Sweden run by a talented chef, Magnus Nilsson, who is also a local boy from the region of Jamtland.

B&B costs SEK2,500/€282 per night. Dinner is an additional SEK1,700/€192pp – without drinks. Or flights. Or car hire.

To visit Faviken is truly an experience on its own and that experience starts even before you get to the restaurant. Faviken maybe familiar to those of you who have watched The Chef's Table on Netflix. It is a restaurant just below the Arctic Circle in Sweden run by a talented chef, Magnus Nilsson, who is also a local boy from the region of Jamtland. Faviken is not only a restaurant but also a private domain of no less than 8000 hectares established in 1885. Not owned by Nilsson but by a rich hedge fund milionair from Stockholm. The milionair might own the location and grounds, it’s Magnus Nilsson who has the vision and the drive to turn Faviken in one of the most interesting destination restaurants in the world. The set menu costs SEK 2200 per person when we visited in 2015, but since gaining two Michelin stars, the price has gone up to SEK 3000.

Faviken is ranked 34th on the San Pellegrino list of World’s Best Restaurants.. The cost of the dinner is $250, with optional wine pairings at $105.

La cuisine servie au restaurant était faite avec des produits locaux venant des domaines autour du restaurant, à quelques exceptions près. Jag och Kamera-Andreas åkte till Fäviken Magasinet och åt en vansinnigt bra middag. Mat och vin landar på drygt 5.000:- / person.
